How to add your own custom Storefront footer credit

Even if you like the Storefront theme as much as I do, you probably don’t want to show everyone, that your WooCommerce store is based on that theme. So you can either simply remove the credit from the footer by adding this snippet to your (child-)themes functions.php:

add_action( 'init', 'tk_remove_storefront_footer_credit', 10 );

function tk_remove_storefront_footer_credit () {

  // Remove default credit
  remove_action( 'storefront_footer', 'storefront_credit', 20 );

Or you remove the credit and add your own custom credit to the footer like so:

add_action( 'init', 'tk_add_custom_storefront_footer_credit', 10 );

function tk_add_custom_storefront_footer_credit () {

  // Remove default credit
  remove_action( 'storefront_footer', 'storefront_credit', 20 );

  // Add own custom credit
  add_action( 'storefront_footer', 'tk_custom_storefront_credit', 20 );

function tk_custom_storefront_credit() {
  <div class="site-info">
    &copy; <?php echo get_bloginfo( 'name' ) . ' ' . get_the_date( 'Y' ); ?>

So if your shops name is “My Awesome Shop” and if it’s the year 2020, the credit in footer will be “© My Awesome Shop 2020”.
